An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest or jail booking records an accusation and custody event, not guilt. The Knox County Attorney may decline to file, change a charge, or proceed on a different count. A court may dismiss a charge, enter an acquittal, or reach another disposition. Nebraska records may later be corrected or restricted, and a qualifying conviction may be set aside without erasing the historical court file. An older copy can therefore differ from the current legal status. Check the final result with the responsible Knox County court, the sheriff, or the Nebraska State Patrol before drawing a conclusion.
